10 Facts About Me
Hey there... So my name is Hannah and I am going to share with you 10 facts about me.... wether you want to know them or not... Lol.
Fact 1: In my free time (which I barely ever have), I enjoy signing, playing my ukulele, and listening to music. I also enjoy going to the recording studio, playing Pokemon Go, and binge watching Criminal Minds on Netflix with my boyfriend.
Fact 2: I currently work three jobs, go to school full-time, drown in homework, and still manage to have (somewhat) of a social life. So yeah.. I have no reason to be doing all of this but I like to keep myself busy and I am an organization/planning FREAK.
Fact 3: July 2013, I auditioned for the t.v. show The Voice in St. Louis, MO. It was quite an awesome experience that I always like to share because it was something that I had never witnessed or experienced before. At the time, I was a minor. As I was waiting in a gymnasium with THOUSANDS of other people auditioning, people would randomly stand up and start singing in front of everyone. I was blown away by the bravery, the talent, and the positive vibes that everyone gave to each other before we all went in to audition. I auditioned in a room with 8 other people. I was one of the last to go. I was also the only one in my group that got asked to sing a second song. And there were some AMAZING singers in there.. Of course I had a brain fart and couldn't come up with lyrics to another song to save my life.... therefor I didn't make it through. But looking back on this experience, It overwhelms me with joy and motivation and I will most likely go back and audition again after I graduate from college!
Fact 4: I am addicted to Starbucks... but who are we kidding? Everyone is.. Duh. (Especially those who are in art school and are dying from lack of sleep due to drowning in projects and deadlines.) aka me...HELP.
Fact 5: When I was about 5 years old, I fit my body into a family size Froot Loop box... yeah don't ask.... But ever since then, I have always had an obsession of trying to fit myself into things that I shouldn't... I don't know what my problem is. Lol.
Fact 6: Since being in design school and seeing everyone dress fashionably, I have recently gained a shopping and fashion obsession. (Maybe this is the reason I work three jobs....hmmm... never thought about that.) I LOVE the fact that you can wear comfy clothes and still look fashionable and cute.
Fact 7: I am TERRIFIED of needles. But yet, I have this tattoo idea that I have been wanting for the past 5 years and still haven't gotten the courage to get it. My mother made a comment the other day about how she never has to worry about me getting a tattoo because she knows I am too big of a chicken... I kind of just want to get it to prove her wrong at this point... That's what kids do right? Do the exact opposite thing of what their parents tell them too?... Okay cool.
On a more serious note.....
Fact 8: When I was 15 or 16 years old, I knew that I wanted to be an artist and go to college for art. There were two classes that I took in high school that helped me figure this out. I took a mixed media class where I made collages out of different mediums. I had so much fun with that. My teacher loved my work so much that he still has my book that I created in his office to this day. I also was inspired because I was in the school newspaper class. I then found a love for photography, layout design, and creating visual and information designs. A fact within a fact.... I told my parents at this age that I wanted to be a graphic artist... They thought I was confused and tried to lead me in a different direction.. When I graduated from high school, I still wanted to be an artist. And here I am today. An artist, creating some amazing things, learning amazing skills, and making an impact on the world with my art. Thank goodness my parents are proud of me.
Fact 9: As you can tell, I like to photograph. After having a focus in photography (taking 4 photography classes in college), I would have to say that I don't really have a favorite type of photographing. I enjoy portraits, fashion photography, food photography, environmental portraits, still lives, pretty much anything that can be photographed. I think my favorite part of photography is the editing process as well as publishing my work.
Fact 10: Graphic Design is my passion. Before I started college, my only experience with design was on Microsoft Word... as you could image, my instructors looked at me like I had 4 eyes since I had made some surprisingly impressive work. After learning the skills I have in Adobe products, I have grown to become a much better designer. My favorite type of design involves typography and a collage between photography and typography. I have a special interest in food designs such as menu's, recipe's, and food magazine designs. I am obsessed with grids and layout organization. This part of design allows me to combine my photography and design.
